The advice for pregnant women is largely the same as for the first of the population i.e. plenty of fresh fruit, and veg, reduce stress levels. Ensure you are taking your recommended doses of folic acid and Vitamin D. According to NICE women should take 400 micrograms of folic acid each day, from before pregnancy until the end of the first trimester (first 12 weeks), and 10 micrograms of vitamin D daily throughout pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
Water intake is crucial at least 1.5 litres a day, keep mobile to avoid clotting a serious complication in pregnancy.
